Knysna Catholic Communities

Thank you for your interest in our parish. Whether you’re just visiting us for a brief time, looking for a new parish home, are returning to the practice of your Catholic faith or are interested in finding out more about the Catholic Church, we’re happy to have you here. A parish is a community of believers and a spiritual family that is supportive and loving. It can be a place to grow spiritually, to put your faith in action, and to use our gifts of time and talent as disciples of Christ. We look forward to answering any questions you may have. In the meantime, please look through the resources we’ve made available on these pages.

Nkosazana Ngcwele iRosari

We are a community situated on the hills of Knysna overlooking the beauty of the heads and sea! Born out of apartheid policies of separation we have preserved our cultures: Catholic and Xhosa! Our community is made up of families and indivduals who have been in Knysna for many years, having come to this place of natural beauty to work. It is not unusual for many of us to 'go home' during holidays to our places of origin in the Eastern Cape and surrounding towns - but we always come back.

Our liturgies are celebrated in the vernacular, Xhosa! Visitors are most welcome to join us for a truly African experience and expression of prayer and praise.

QHR Family Life Celebrations are still continuing!!

All the people who celebrated their Bday during the month of September received‎ a special blessing and Mr September (Chairman of QHR family) took up the gifts and lit the "family life candle ". Traditional Attire was worn and refreshments was served after mass.
